ATVERC clients Responsibilities

RULES & REGULATIONS

Who May Use the Resources & Services of the ATVERC?

​

The ATVERC is open to both TESDA and non-TESDA cliets.

Non-TESDA clients are required to submit a referral letter from the School Dean/Chief Librarian to the ATVERC librarian's counter upon entry.

 

  1. Requirements for Entering/Using the ATVERC

    1. Visitors are requested to deposit their bags at the librarian's counter. Valuables must be kept inside their bags for safety. The library will not be liable for personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged.

    2. TESDA clients are requested to register/log-in at the librarian's counter and present their employee ID card for barcode scanning upon entering the ATVERC.

              Non-TESDA clients including Job Order personnel are also required to register/log-in at the counter and

              present their valid ID card for issuance of a barcode.

 

I. Loan and Circulation

​

          1.  ATVERC print type materials are available for loan to TESDA employees only. Non-TESDA clients may

              only be is allowed to read or view the materials inside the library premises;

​

          2.  The following information materials can be borrowed for a period as specified:

               2.1.  Newly acquired materials:                      3 days

                      (for inside reading only, available for loan after a month from the date of acquisition limited to one                         book at a time).

 

               2.2.  Books, training materials,                      3 days

                       journals, reports, meeting proceeding, project/discussion papers: (three materials can be borrowed                          for outside reading at one time).

 

               2.3.  Back issues of periodicals:                      3 days

                       (three materials can be borrowed for outside reading at one time).

 

           3.  ID card must be presented at the librarian’s counter and sign the log book in order to borrow materials.

 

           4.  Borrowed materials used must be returned to the librarian’s counter after use for proper shelving.

                â€‹4.1.  Information materials loaned can be renewed provided there are no scheduled reservations. Also,                            materials borrowed must be physically presented to the librarian prior to approval of the renewal.                          The head of the ATVERC and its staff have the right to disapprove any renewal due to any damage

                       found in the materials.

​

           5.  Reference Books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, etc. including CBLMs and Theses are for

                      ‘room use’ only.

 

           6.  In general, information materials at the ATVERC are governed by copyright laws. Hence, approval of

                the ATVERC librarian and its technical support for reproducing the material or any of its part must be

                secured. Reproduction cost shall be shouldered by the client.

 

III.  Use of Multimedia and Internet Services

​

           1.  Viewing of audio-visual AV materials is for ‘room use’ only. Reserve AV materials and equipment at

               least 1 day in advance (for TESDA employees only).

 

           2.  Loss or damage to borrowed materials and equipment shall be the responsibility of the borrower.

 

           3.  The CD-ROM search service is available at the Instructional Materials Section.

                The use of CD-ROM is governed by these policies:​

 

                3.1. The use of the CD-ROM is on a first-come-first-served basis;

                3.2. Each client is allotted 1 hour of use; and

                3.3. Downloading/copying of information to any device is strictly prohibited.

​

          4.  Internet services are also available for 1 hour per user. If there are less than 10 users, use of internet

               may be extended, with the permission of the staff assigned.

 

          5.  Always log-in with the staff assigned before using any computer or gadget.

​

IV. Penalties for Non-Compliance

​

          1. An overdue notice shall be sent to a borrower for the prescribed loan duration. After two (2) of such

             notices have been issued and the borrower has not yet returned the material, offender shall be

             disallowed to avail of the ATVERC services until borrowed materials are returned. Likewise, repetition of

             the same offense will mean suspension of the privileges to use the library and its facilities for 3 months.

​

          2. Loss or damage to any loaned material must be reported at once to the ATVERC. Replacement is

             required. However, if the lost/damaged material is not locally available, the borrower is required to pay

             the current market price of the material in cash.

​

          3. Any equipment damaged due to improper use of operation by any client while being used inside

              the library or while on loan (if still repairable) shall be repaired, the cost of which shall be borne by

              said client otherwise replacement will be demanded.

​

         4. Vandalism is an administrative offense punishable under Civil Service Laws. Hence, the commission of

             this offense will be dealt with accordingly.

​

         5. The Librarian and its technical support have the right to disallow any client to use the library facilities

             and to discontinue the on-going research activity of any client found violating any provision of this

             guide.

​

V.  ATVERC clients Responsibilities

​

      The following are strictly prohibited inside the ATVERC.

  1. Smoking, eating, drinking, sleeping and littering;

  2. Unnecessary noise and other forms of disturbances; and

  3. Vandalism and damage to any material, equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
